MW2 and Warzone will once again have a Halloween Event in 2023 centered around The Haunting, according to files that leakers have found through datamining.
Longtime Warzone players may already recognize the name “The Haunting” since there was a similar event back in 2021 with the original Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. Halloween Events always bring some incredible skins to Call of Duty, and it looks like 2023’s The Haunting is no different.

MW2 & Warzone Halloween Event 2023 Release Date Speculation
If there is a MW2 and Warzone Halloween Event in 2023, like the leaks suggest, then we expect it to arrive on October 25 alongside the Season 6 Reloaded update.
Call of Duty hasn’t revealed the official release date of MW2 Season 6, but the recent Zombie Ghost Operator Skin announcement suggests it is scheduled for September 27, 2023. This means that Season 6 Reloaded would land on October 25 based on the timeframe of previous seasons.
During the last Halloween event in 2021, “The Haunting” update actually replaced the original Warzone’s Season 6 Reloaded update. It is likely that a similar situation will happen with MW2 and Warzone with the 2023 Halloween Event.
Activision will likely announce the event and its official release date during the Season 6 blog post next week. However, they may not reveal the exact details of The Haunting until closer to the event’s release.
The Haunting 2023 MW2 & Warzone Details
Activision has yet to release any official details on the upcoming MW2 and Warzone Halloween 2023 event, but a few leakers have revealed a few of the changes coming.
The train in Al Mazrah is getting replaced with a “Hell Train,” according to files found by leakers. This could potentially mean that Al Mazrah will get a “haunting” makeover to go alongside the event.
They also found files that pointed to “Ghosts” coming to Warzone, and “Zombies” appearing in MW2 Multiplayer.
During the 2021 Haunting event, Warzone introduced an event that revolved around Ghosts. In that mode, players would turn into ghosts after getting killed instead of being sent to the Gulag. It also introduced a Fear meter that would cause Operators who aren’t ghosts to begin to panic.
This allowed players to experience a completely different Warzone. Since “Ghosts” are once again supposed to return to Warzone, then we could see something along the lines of “The Ghost of Al Mazrah” added to the playlists.
For Multiplayer, it is likely that we will see more of an emphasis on the Infected game mode and other Halloween twists for some of the more popular modes.
Warzone Halloween 2023 Operators & Skins Leaked
The Halloween 2023 event will feature new Operators to fit the event’s theme and new skins for existing Operators to give players a scare.
Here are the four Operators that players will come across during Season 6:

- Alucard – Hellsing
- Ash Williams – Evil Dead
