Tis’ the season to be jolly, and we are excited about the lineup for the [email protected] Winter Game Demo event this year! The event will start on December 6, 2022, and conclude on December 12, 2022, and has a slew of awesome games to kick back and chill out with.
Winter is coming or for some, it’s already here! With the wintery snowy wonderland comes the ice, sleet, and slippery roadways that make you just want to stay indoors with a fuzzy blanket and a good video game to play. The [email protected] Winter Game Demo event is one of those events that aren’t just fun, but pretty important. This is where some games debut for the very first time to the masses, and fans are allowed to give feedback to the developers in order to help them with the direction of their game or any bugs that they may have missed. Plus, it’s a great way for gamers to find quick and interesting new content to enjoy when they get sick and tired of the same old thing every day.
This year, Xbox is teaming up with Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards to bring a Winter Game Demo fans won’t soon forget, with titles that just look plain fun to play. There are over 20 total demos that will be available for play, and all of them are unreleased games for both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Most of the demos will only be available for one week, so we highly suggest taking a look at each one before they disappear into the ether.
One of the games that will be headed to the demo board is titled Tin Hearts, and it not only looks adorable but engaging as well. Players will be there to help guide a troop of little tin soldiers through a “toy-filled world full of magic and mystery”, where they will need to solve puzzles to progress. There is also a game from tinyBuild and SURT coming to the event called Rhythm Sprout, where players must keep up to the beat of the rhythm to defeat hordes of enemies and bosses.
Now, when you think of a demo, usually a finished product or almost finished game comes to mind; but not this time around. These games are still in development in some shape or form and are just the bare bones of a finished product. This means that some of the games you see will not only be shown off for the very first time but are in very early stages of development. That in itself is exciting! Being the first to lay eyes on a game is always so much fun.
