New details for the upcoming Halo Infinite Co-op Campaign have just emerged! You’ll be able to jump in with up to three friends; just don’t get too far from them.
It’s no secret that one of the most highly requested features for Halo Infinite is the co-op campaign. Campaign co-op allows Halo players to complete the story alongside their friends.
Halo Infinite’s campaign is open-world. So it makes sense that it took a little more troubleshooting than most.
But if you think you and your friends will be able to explore completely different areas of Halo Infinite’s open world, you might be disappointed.

How Halo Infinite Co-op Campaign Works & Everything You Need to Know
Halo Infinite campaign co-op will adopt a “No Spartan Left Behind” mentality. It prioritizes making it a seamless experience for players and their fireteam.
Here are a few things that are important to note.
To play, you’ll need to sign up for the upcoming Halo Infinite co-op campaign flight before the release date.
For starters, you won’t be able to go more than 1000 FT away from your team. This is because of the Area of Operations mechanics. Players need to be within a certain radius of each other.
Despite the map being an open world, players will not be able to just break apart completely.
Halo Infinite will record co-op and solo campaign progression the same. If you use the same save for co-op and solo, progression will carry over between modes.
A few of the more important aspects that will progress together include:
- Mission progress
- Acquired collectibles
- Equipment found
- Achievements earned
- Upgrades made during your playthrough
As long as you use the same save, all these aspects will carry over between solo and campaign. It’s made so that this progression is seamless. If players want to play solo, then drop into co-op campaign, all their progress will carry over.

Missions for a fireteam will only be marked as completed once every member of the fireteam has finished it at least once.
Another exciting mechanic that Halo Infinite will introduce is Mission Replay. This means you’ll be able to replay story missions with your fire team members.
Forming a fireteam will function the same as multiplayer. The only difference is you’ll need to choose campaign co-op from the menu to initiate the play session.
Don’t forget; you’ll need to be a Halo Insider to sign up for the initial Halo Infinite Campaign Co-op flight!
