Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 added a ton of new content to the popular Battle Royale title. From brand-new modes such as LEGO Fortnite to new items like Society Medallions, the latest season offers plenty of things to keep players engaged.
The seasonal update has also brought back Hot Spots to the map, allowing you to check out these locations after dropping from the Battle Bus. With this in mind, here’s everything to know about Hot Spots in Fortnite.
What are Hot Spots in Fortnite?
Hot Spots in Fortnite are POIs on the map that are populated with flying drones carrying high-rarity loot. These locations are chosen randomly at the beginning of every match.
Hot Spots were first added to Fortnite during Chapter 1 before being vaulted in later updates. They have returned to the Island with Chapter 5 Season 1.

When visiting these locations, you can shoot down drones to collect powerful weapons early on in the match. There will be multiple drones in one Hot Spot so you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.
Fortnite: How to land at Hot Spots
To land at Hot Spots in Fortnite, you’ll have to spot locations named with gold letters on the map. Since these locations are chosen at random, it’s best to check your map before dropping. After picking your preferred location, glide towards it and start looting.
We recommend collecting powerful weapons and gear as soon as you land as enemy players will also visit Hot Spots.
