San Francisco 49ers at Washington Commanders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 17 game – USA TODAY

After a Christmas Day collapse, the San Francisco 49ers (11-4) would like nothing more than to get back on the same page against the Washington Commanders (4-11) in Week 17.
What was billed as a possible Super Bowl matchup turned into a rout in the Bay Area on Monday, as poor play from Brock Purdy resulted in the Baltimore Ravens picking up a big victory on the road. The win legitimized the Ravens as a Super Bowl favorite, and Lamar Jackson could be closing in on another MVP trophy with just two weeks left in the regular season.
Washington nearly pulled off a comeback, but the Commanders couldn’t hold onto the lead and fell to the New York Jets for their six-straight loss. There are also more quarterback questions. Jacoby Brissett engineered the comeback in place of Sam Howell, so Washington gets another chance to see who could be the starter heading into next season.

What a perfect way to wash away a beatdown. The Ravens were always a tougher matchup for the 49ers, but Washington, even if Jacoby Brissett is called into action, do not present any of the problems that Baltimore did. The Niners should bounce back here.
Jacoby Brissett is the best QB on the Commanders roster. Too bad the Commanders waited too long to play him. The 49ers got pummeled by the Ravens on Christmas. This is a get-right game for San Francisco. The 49ers are still the best team in the NFC, but their flaws were exposed by Baltimore.
Brock Purdy needs a bounce-back performance after four interceptions last week, and the Commanders are a perfect opponent. The 49ers win easily in Washington.  
The 49ers showed they have chinks in their armor after an embarrassing home loss last week that featured five interceptions. A game against the lowly Commanders should help them rebound. But take the moneyline since the spread is massive for an across-the-country road game, San Francisco has already locked up the NFC West, and Brock Purdy might be dinged up.
After what happened against Baltimore, San Francisco is going to want to get the bad taste of defeat out of its mouth with a dominant win. Except the 49ers to turn up the jets in this one, blowing out a Washington squad that continues to start games slow.
