Fortnite, a popular battle royale game, seems set for another collaboration. A leak suggests that a new Dragon Ball Z and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration is on the way, which will introduce new skins to the game.
DBZ and TNMT skins in Fortnite
This new leak comes from ShiinaBR, one of Fortnite’s most reliable leakers, who claims that Frieza and Cell are making their way to Fortnite. ShiinaBR also revealed screenshots of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins in the game, which seemingly confirm Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello are coming to Fortnite. There was no release date by the leaker, and while the leaker is reliable, it is best to take this with a grain of salt and wait for an official announcement from Epic Games.
Why Nintendo collaborations are not in Fortnite yet
Epic Games has revealed why Nintendo characters are not in their game so far. There are so many character skins in Fortnite but Nintendo characters such as Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser, Link, Princess Zelda, Pikachu (and other Pokemon), and more are still not a part of the game.
Saxs Persson, executive vice president at Epic Games, told Axios that Epic Games has been trying to make a collaboration with Nintendo happen. He was quizzed how hard is it to make that happen and he replied with, “I don’t know what the word for, like, making diamonds is.”
Persson added, “Nintendo has their strategy and we have our strategy, and we hope at some point” to add their characters because Persson believes that the Fortnite players “would love it.”
Fortnite is truly video games’ multiversal home. The amount of collaborations that Epic Games has managed to pull off is staggering, with countless pop culture and video game collaborations, all taking place within Fortnite. Epic has brought Marvel and DC superheroes, along with characters from popular game franchises such as Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Star Wars, and so many more.
Most recently, they managed to bring ‘Rap God’ Eminem and even Family Guy’s Peter Griffin to the game through their Big Bang event which also introduced LEGO Fortnite and Rocket Racing within Fortnite.
