Seel is the featured Pokemon for this week’s Spotlight Hour event in Pokemon GO!
The Pokemon GO Seel Spotlight Hour is taking place from 6 PM until 7 PM local time on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
During this hour, Seel will be spawning in the wild much more frequently, making it the best opportunity to farm Seel Candy, or even catch a Seel with perfect IVs!
As well as the increased Seel spawns, there is the opportunity to catch the shiny version of Seel, as well as a great in-game bonus for the event!
Can You Catch Shiny Seel in the December 12 Spotlight Hour?
Yes, you can catch the shiny version of Seel in the December 12 Spotlight Hour. However, you’ll need to be very lucky to find one.
The odds of any Seel you encounter in Pokemon GO being the shiny version is 0.2%. This means that, on average, you’ll need to encounter 500 Seel before finding a shiny one!
Fortunately, a shiny Seel is easy to spot as it is a beige or cream color, instead of the standard Seel’s light grey.
December 12 Spotlight Hour Bonus
The bonus for the December 12 Seel Spotlight Hour is 2x Candy for transferring Pokemon. This is excellent news if you want to get Candy to evolve or power up Seel.
Plus, if you save Pokemon you want to transfer in your storage until then, you’ll be able to get double the Candy for transferring them. Therefore, we suggest being patient and transfer your Pokemon during this event!
