Tampa Bay defenseman honored for reaching milestone
DAL@TBL: Lightning honor Hedman for 1,000 games
The Tampa Bay Lightning celebrated defenseman Victor Hedman’s 1,000th NHL game on Monday before their matchup with the Dallas Stars at Amalie Arena.
Hedman’s teammates wore special T-shirts during walk-ins to commemorate the milestone. The T-shirts had Hedman’s number on an emblem with “1,000 NHL Games” written underneath.

During warmups, the team all wore jerseys with the number 1,000 on them and Hedman’s last name listed.

Hedman got a special message from friends and former teammates, in a video posted by the team on social media.
