Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 arrived this month after the Big Bang event and with it, players have received a bunch of new things including gameplay features, skins POIs, a Lego Game Mode and more. They have just released the announcement trailer for the arrival of LEGO in Fortnite, However, one of the new gameplay features has caught players’ attention to a much higher degree and that is Fortnite’s new movement mechanics, and let’s just say not too many players are happy about the change. Fortnite has just officially responded to this criticism.
Fortnite LEGO Announcement Trailer
Fortnite’s new survival crafting mode inspired by LEGO arrives on December 7 and ahead of its release, we have just received an exciting announcement. Fortnite has just revealed that the players’ lockers have become much bigger now as LEGO styles for Fortnite Outfits have arrived, with more to be added in the future.
In a follow-up tweet, they revealed that some outfits have “higher details” than others as they wanted to release the LEGO styles as soon as possible. At the moment there are over 1,200 detailed LEGO outfits available, and more will be added each month. However, players should keep in mind that certain IPs will not be available in the LEGO styles.
Fortnite Responds to Movement Criticism
Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), Fortnite has addressed the concerns players have with the new movement mechanics. They start by saying that the devs also took a “few days to get used to it” while they were play-testing this feature. The reason for this change is that they wish to bring “visual movements and encourage more strategic making in each moment” through the new movement.
Furthermore, the new changes include new animations, slightly slower running and sprinting speed with higher recovery rate for stamina, sideways and backward movement is now faster and crouched movement is now slower, but stealthier. They have heard the player feedback on it and are hoping that the players will “consider this update” in the early stages and that the new movement “starts to feel natural over time”.
They concluded stating, “We’re still here with you and every day we strive to make things better. Thanks for everything”. Players in the comment section have appreciated the prompt communication from the developers, however, some still want the movement to go back to what it was, whereas some seem to be completely fine with it.
