ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) — Although Veterans Day was Saturday, the celebration continued Sunday for the Packers game at Stadium View in Ashwaubenon.
A Salute to Service event showcased resources available to vets including housing access, loan information, memorial services, and even art.
While nonveterans paid a $10 entry fee, attendees enjoyed pizza, raffles, auctions, and other means of generating donations, all while watching the game.
"The message is we want to thank our veterans, and we want to bring awareness to providing services to our veterans,” said Cathy Kohlbeck, the founder of Houses of Honor, which helped put on the event. “Either services from the county or like our Houses of Honor program, we provide services at a discount for veterans.”
Money raised at the event went to nonprofits Honor and Valor Outdoors and Dogs-two-Dog Tags.
