SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Following a fight that broke out on the football field between PSLA @ Fowler and Watertown last weekend, the game was ruled no contest.
A fight broke out between multiple players during a game on Friday, October 13 at Watertown High School. The game was ended with just over a minute left in the first half, with Fowler leading 22-7.
No contest means that the game will not count toward either team’s overall record.
As a result of the brawl, Fowler will forfeit its game against Nottingham High School scheduled for Friday, October 20. Nottingham will advance directly to the sectional tournament.
"The PSLA at Fowler season is not over. They did forfeit their game this Friday versus Nottingham which was to be a play-in game for sectionals, but they plan to play the following Friday in what is called a crossover game. These are games that teams play who have either missed the sectional tournament or have been eliminated from it," Michael Henesey, the director of community partnerships at the Syracuse City School District, told CNY Central Wednesday.
