Merritt is on a football winning streak.
Senior running back Zion Campbell rushed for a school-record 405 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 62-8 victory over visiting Peck on Friday.
Caden Siler ran for 79 yards and two touchdowns and returned a fumble 60 yards for another score as coach Todd Wohlfeil’s team won its third consecutive game.
Junior linebacker Jackson Dupuis made 13 tackles and recovered a fumble in the North Central Thumb League Stripes Division game. Jordan Bell Lopacki made 10 tackles and a fumble recovery; junior Shane Christianson had 10 tackles and Jack Hellrung had six plus an interception.
Merritt, 3-3 in the Stripes and overall, started the winning streak with a 62-0 victory over Carsonville-Port Sanilac and then defeated Caseville 46-0.
