WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets play their final preseason game tonight when they take on the Ottawa Senators at Canada Life Centre.
The line-up will have more of a veteran presence for the final preseason tilt but Nikolaj Ehlers will once again be out of the lineup.
That means that Alex Iafallo will skate on the left side of Cole Perfetti and Nino Niederreiter on the Jets second line. While Iafallo has been a Jet for a short period of time, his new teammates feel he is an easy guy to read off of.
“I think that’s what makes him very easy to play with. You can put him anywhere. First line, second line, you name it,” said Niederreiter.
“He’s easy to play with, you know what you’re getting from him each and every single night. He competes hard, works hard and is fun to play with.”

Ville Heinola will be playing his fifth game of the preseason and has really taken a big step in getting the coaching staff to notice him with his play at both ends of the ice. The Finnish defenceman will be paired with Brendan Dillon against the Sens.
“Well, we liked what Ville’s done, Dillon gives him some physicality and some real presence back there, he’s a veteran. So, we’ll see what that looks like, that’s really what we are doing,” said Rick Bowness.
“Until you try it, you don’t know. Samberg’s had a really good camp with Pionk, and we know Melo is going to play with Mo so, now’s the time to try it and give those things a look and see what it looks like you know.”
