In this article, we’ll be breaking down the best Pokemon ROM hack games that you can play with better chances of catching shiny Pokemon. Some of these Pokemon games you may have heard of before, but never knew that the chances of catching shinies are higher. Others might not have been on your radar at all, but we’ll be fixing that today!

What Are The Best Pokemon ROM Hacks With Increased Shiny Odds?
Pokemon Blaze Black and Volt White 2
If you aren’t already familiar with Pokemon Blaze Black and Volt White 2, these games are the sequels of the original ROM hacks created by Drayano and are some of the best Pokemon ROM hacks out there. In these Pokemon GBA ROM hack games, as soon as you get to Castelia City you receive the Shiny Charm, and immediately your shiny odds increase significantly.
You get the Shiny Charm instead of the Bicycle in Castelia City. Without the charm, the shiny odds are 1/8192, however, with the shiny charm, your chances of running into shiny Pokemon change to 1/1024.
The above numbers are for the base games of Blaze Black and Volt White 2, however, in the newer version called Pokemon Blaze Black and Volte White 2 Redux, the shiny odds are increased to 1/512.
Pokemon Renegade Platinum
In Pokemon Renegade Platinum, all Pokemon are available as shinies at whatever rate the version you’re playing has. This means that with the Shiny Boost, you get a 1/512 chance and without, you’re looking at a 1/8192 chance.
Do keep in mind that you will need to soft reset to get shinies for static encounters as save states don’t reroll the RNG, meaning you would still get the same Pokemon every time.
Keep in mind that the shiny odds mentioned above were introduced in a patch that came out after this ROM hack was initially released. You’ll want to make sure you download and play the newest version of the game in order to get the patch that has the increased shiny odds.
Pokemon Moon Emerald
Pokemon Moon Emerald has some of the best shiny odds for all ROM hacks out there. The odds have been increased to 1/100 which is just insane. Even though the odds technically are 1/100, we could swear that it felt more like a 1/20 based on our own experience.
This Pokemon Emerald ROM hack has increased the shiny rate a lot. Certain YouTubers have played this ROM hack specifically only with shiny Pokemon. That’s how often you can run into and catch Shinies in it.
Pokemon Crystal Clear
In Pokemon Crystal Clear, there’s no shiny locking at all, meaning that any Pokemon in the game can be shiny. Shiny Pokemon odds have been increased to 1/1024. If you want to really take your shiny game to the next level, you can even catch a shiny Eevee and then duplicate it to have a party of all shiny Eeveelutions!
To duplicate your shiny Pokemon in the game:
- You must first have at least two Pokemon, with one of them being the one you want to actually duplicate.
- Go to a Pokemon Center and save right in front of the PC.
- Turn on the PC and select Bill’s PC.
- Deposit the Pokemon you want to duplicate into a PokeBox.
- Now leave the box and click on Change Box.
- Pick any box to change to and proceed to click the A button until the Save option appears.
- Once you can Save, select Yes, and as soon as you see ‘SAVING… DON’T TURN OFF THE POWER.’, go ahead and restart the game.
- You’ll want to restart as soon as the period appears at the end of the sentence ‘SAVING… DON’T TURN OFF THE POWER.’
- As soon as the game restarts, select Continue. If you followed all the above then you’ll have a duplicate of the Pokemon in a PokeBox and one also in your party.
Pokemon Ultra Violet
In Pokemon Ultra Violet, certain tiles of grass will always have shiny Pokemon. Through trial and error and exploring the different areas of the hack, you’ll find special shiny tiles that once stepped on, your next Pokemon encounter will always be a shiny Pokemon.

Pokemon Fused Dimension
Pokemon Fused Dimension’s shiny odds are a 1/400 chance. The cool thing about this Pokemon FireRed hack is that these aren’t your typical shiny Pokemon, they’re actually fused shiny Pokemon. This means that they’re entirely new Pokemon created by fusing two different Pokemon together, creating a shiny offshoot of their fusion.
When going around catching Pokemon, you’ll be hunting shinies of Pokemon that you’ve never seen before. You might even run into a shiny starter if you’re lucky, however, you’ll see plenty of shiny Pokemon throughout your journey in this hack.
