Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projet Red’s futuristic RPG, set in a dystopian era is all set to release the anticipated Update 2.0 today, September 21. This new update is all set to bring a major upgrade to the base game that includes a revamp of the perk system, a new police system, vehicular combat, overall improvements to the gameplay elements, and much more. Interestingly, this major update to the game has also brought changes to its PC requirements, learn more below.
In their latest blog post, CD Project Red has revealed that the new system requirements have been made in order to add support for new GPUs that aren’t available when the game releases as well as “targeting a resolution output of 1080p or 4k for specific in-game presets”. The change will also “better represent the minimum configuration” needed to run the game at 1080p with an average frame rate of 30FPS.
One of the biggest changes that players will see is that Cyberpunk 2077 will not run on Hard Disk Drives or HDD and will need a Solid Stated Drive or SSD to run the title. This change has been made to bring faster load times, improve streaming, and have a better overall performance. Elon Musk once showed up with a gun to insist for a Cyberpunk 2077 cameo
In other news, SpaceX and Tesla founder, Elon Musk’s antics in gaming have been spotted again, and this time for Cyberpunk 2077. Spotted by PCGamer, Walter Isaacson’s biography of Elon Musk speaks about one exchange he had with CD Projekt Red when his partner at the time, Grimes, was dubbing for one of the roles.
For those who do not know, the popular singer, Grimes worked on Cyberpunk 2077 as a cyborg popstar character called, Lizzy Lizzy. Musk was in a relationship with her at the time, and he landed up at the studio insisting on a cameo. Musk also told them that he was “armed but not dangerous” and was carrying an antic gun.
The biography also mentions that Musk’s interest in the game comes from his own work, the Neuralink. Neuralink is one of the technologies Musk is working on and it is very similar to the tech we see in Cyberpunk 2077. However, this cameo never came to fruition, just as the Cybertruck never made it to the game.
