Starfield is the “biggest launch in Bethesda history”

“Thank you to more than 10 million Starfield explorers for creating the biggest launch in Bethesda history,” the company said in a post on X. That’s quite the achievement considering Starfield is limited to Xbox Series X|S and PC, although we’re sure Xbox Game Pass has helped open the doors to a large percentage of those players — a service multiplatform games like the fantastic Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim couldn’t utilize during its launch.
There is no doubt that Starfield is riding a positive wave right now, as is evident in our Xbox Gameplay Chart, which sees the space RPG remain in the top spot for the third week in a row. We looked at our data from TrueAchievements members earlier this month and found that Starfield isn’t just Bethesda’s biggest launch, but it’s also the biggest Xbox Series X|S-only launch to date and has taken the top spot as the year’s biggest release, overtaking the former reigning champion, Atomic Heart, by around 63,000 players.
If you’ve been enjoying Starfield so far but are looking forward to new content and features, it received a small update last week that focused on fixing some stability issues, but a larger update will be arriving soon with several “top community requested features.” What’s more, mod support will arrive next year via the Bethesda Creator Club, which will act similarly to the console mods found in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
As for other Bethesda news, a recent leak has revealed that Bethesda is working on remasters for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, Arkane is working on Dishonored 3, a new Doom game, Doom Year Zero, is in the works, and more.
