The fact that Bethesda’s Starfield is a console exclusive for Xbox Series X|S certainly has sparked a lot of discussion and more than a little resentment. Now you can do something about it (in a way) thanks to modders.
Considering that we heard during the infamous hearing that saw Microsoft face off against the FTC back in June that Starfield may have ended up as a PlayStation exclusive if Bethesda wasn’t acquired, modder chachinito now lets you fix things and see what could have been.
The mod, available on Nexus Mods, changes the Message of the Day box in the main menu to highlight a fictional PlayStation exclusivity. You can see what it looks like below.

Incidentally, before you direct your rage at the modder, this is an obvious joke. It’s clearly tagged “Humour, Joke or just for fun.” If you feel inclined to flame someone, feel free to be angry at me for this obviously humorous article, I have broad shoulders and I can’t be serious all the time.
On the other hand, if you’ll find it in your heart to have a laugh with me at the light-hearted silliness of it all, I’ll be grateful.
Yet, you can go further in your Starfield PlayStation facelift. This mod, also by chachinito, lets you change the splash screen with a PlayStation Studios one, while this mod by the same author replaces the flashlight with a PlayStation logo.
They also have another PlayStation-themed flashlight mod, but it may hurt some sensibilities, so check it out at your own peril.
The last mod of this collection is more than a joke and it’s made by TheShoxter. As usual, you can download it from NexusMods and it replaces the button prompts with DualSense ones.
On the same page, you can find files for the DualShock 4 and even a Nintendo Switch controller. Of course, these are actually useful if you plan to use these controllers to play Starfield.

Starfield is available now for Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam and Windows Store), and Game Pass. It achieved 1 million concurrent players on day one, and it already surpassed 6 million cumulative players.
