Today third-party developer announced two major airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and revealed the release date of a third.
We start with FlightFX, which took to its Discord server to announce the release date of DuPage Airport (KDPA) near Chicago, United States (portrayed above).
It’ll launch on September 14, 2023, on the official Marketplace, Orbx, Contrail, and Flightsim.to priced at $14.99. It’ll include the following features:
- Built in coordination with the DuPage Airport Authority
- On-site photography of all major facilities
- Reworked taxiways and signage
- High-res photographic textures
- Custom ground plane
- Custom rotating radar facility
- Manual unwrapping of all UVW maps
- Custom emissive night-lighting textures
- Bespoke details and highlights
- Accurate landscaping
- Natural, undulating runways
- Interior modeling of key structures
- In-hangar parking spaces to add realism
- Interior modeled hangars
- Hand crafted commercial signage around airport
- Static GA and Corporate aircraft
- Reworked landscaping
- Ambient lighting improvements
We also get an announcement from Polish developer Drzewiecki Design, which will stick to its home country for its next project, Copernicus Airport Wrocław (EPWR).
It’s Pland’s 5th-busiest airport hosting plenty of airline traffic and also serves as a military base. Below you can check out the first work-in-progress screenshots. The plan is for a release in October.
We don’t have to go far for the second announcement from MM Simulations, which revealed its next project with a single work-in-progress screenshot of a local hotel. It’s Vilnius International Airport (EYVI) serving the capital of Lithuania and one of the busiest airports in the Baltic region.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now for PC through Steam and Windows Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
