Today marks the day that tinyBuild’s latest published title – Black Skylands – makes it out of early access and is thrust into the big, bad world of a full release. If you are one for fighting within the skies in steampunk-styled dogfights, all in order to upgrade your airship and open up an expansive world, this one is for you! Yep, Black Skylands is on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
Save Aspya
Set across a variety of islands, Black Skylands tasks you to save Aspya’s islands by taking to the skies. From there, you’ll be looking to go about destroying enemy airships with your own. Releasing today on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC, following a couple of years in early access, developers Hungry Couch Games have released enough gameplay and story updates for them to call the game finished.
Taking control of your own bespoke airship as Eva, you will be tasked with taking revenge against a group of outlaws that ripped Eva’s life apart. These outlaws are terrorising Aspya. And the only solution is to destroy their bases, before your own nomadic home is torn apart.
After setting up your basic ship from a few pre-sets, going out into the open world will reward you with a variety of resources that you can use to upgrade your ship, craft powerful artefacts, and take the fight even more to your foes. Some combat will also take place. Your boots will be on the ground, so it is well worth upgrading Eva and her weapon’s, also. In total, Black Skylands boasts nearly 30 different modification options, allowing you to kit out the manoeuvrability and weaponry of your ship to your own playstyle.
Regardless, the top-down action will be punchy, frantic, and fun!
