A collaboration with Doctor Who has long been rumoured to be coming to Fortnite. The news was leaked earlier in April this year. However, since then, we’ve seen multiple collabs and theme-base islands come to Fortnite, like The Witcher, Nike Air, and the latest announced Jujutsu Kaisen, except for Doctor Who. The latest news, however, is that the Doctor Who collab has been postponed to December 2023 or January 2024 for a very special event.
The leaker who shared the news of the Doctor Who collab has recently reshared that the collab will arrive in December/January, with the Mini Event also happening. They state that the event has been delayed because of the upcoming LEGO collaboration in November. The “60th Anniversary look of Doctor 15” is also not reportedly happening.
A Reddit user named Astraliguss has put forth a suggestion that the 60th-anniversary appearance of Doctor Who might have caused confusion, leading to David Tennant (Doctor 14) being mistaken for Ncuti Gatwa (Doctor 15). According to their claim, this confusion could have resulted in changes to the original anniversary plans. Moreover, the user speculates that the BBC may have intended the collaboration event to coincide with the premiere of the new season scheduled for the upcoming year. This new season will also introduce Doctor 15, portrayed by Ncuti Gatwa.
Samsung Galaxy Cup 4 has concluded
In other news, Fortnite successfully wrapped up its Galaxy Cup 4 on July 30. The event, presented by Samsung, offered players the chance to win exclusive items such as the Hazy Dreambeats Set. The set features the Galaxy Crossfade Outfit with the reactive Crossfade’s Equalizer Back Bling, a Spinback Slicer Pickaxe, BPM Breakdown Emote, and Crossfade’s Galaxy Wrap. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to earn Encore Crossfade and Cosmic Crossfade Styles for the outfits by competing in the Cup.
