Hogwarts Legacy developers, Avalanche Software, are currently hiring for what seems like a new AAA game. Two job listings have been found on their website, indicating that the game will be created on Unreal Engine 4, the same engine used for Hogwarts Legacy.
Avalanche Software is currently hiring for two positions: a senior character technical artist and a junior software engineer for dev support. The selected candidate for the first role will join a “versatile tech-art team working with the latest technology developing a high-profile AAA title.” Their primary focus will be on character development and animation.
The second job listing for a junior software engineer mentions that the selected candidate will work with the team responsible for Hogwarts Legacy. This could imply that the game in question is a sequel to 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation of a sequel yet, the previous game has left room for potential future instalments, and it was even described as a “long-term franchise.” Only time will tell if these hirings are indeed for a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy.
Quidditch Champions gameplay leaked
Currently, we have some time before an official introduction of a Hogwarts Legacy sequel. In the meantime, another game called Quidditch Champions, developed by Warner Bros., Wizarding World, and Unbroken Studios, is in development. However, a gameplay video of the game has been leaked online. Although the video was taken down from YouTube, it remains accessible elsewhere on the internet.
The video is of unofficial early gameplay footage, and many things may change in the final game. However, the video showcased various customisation options with well-known characters from the franchise, including Harry Potter, Cho Chang, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Cedric Diggory, the Weasley twins, Oliver Wood, Madame Hooch, Ginny Weasley, and Lee Jordan.
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games unveiled Quidditch Champions, its standalone multiplayer game. The official website describes the game where “players in the sport of Quidditch and other broomstick adventures alongside friends in a competitive, multiplayer setting.” Although the release date has not been announced, the game is expected to be available for PC and consoles.
