Konami has revealed Super Crazy Rhythm Castle, a “character-based rhythm game” with shades of Guitar Hero and Amplitude about it. The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but when it does launch, it’s heading to PC and consoles, including last-gen machines.
With games like eFootball 2023 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection driving strong profits for the studio, it seems Konami has chosen to funnel some of those profits back into game development, surprisingly enough. This one comes from the developer of browser game Super Crazy Guitar Maniac and boasts a similar offbeat art style.
In Super Crazy Rhythm Castle, you must forge forward into the titular castle, full of “music and madness”, in order to depose a cruel king. You can either play the game solo or alongside your friends, and it’ll consist of a series of rhythm-action challenges designed to test your sense of rhythm and timing.
As you play, you’ll explore the castle and take part in minigames, the vast majority of which look like they’ll have a pretty strong rhythm dimension (as you’d expect from a music game). You might be sorting through cardboard boxes, for instance, or shooting down enemies with turret guns.
Various modifiers and changes will be applied to the rhythm-action gameplay depending on what’s happening around you, too. In the trailer, for instance, we see vines covering the track at one stage, first for one player and then for the other. Looks like you’ll have more to contend with than just not being able to keep to the beat (no shame!).
Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at some point in the future. We don’t have a specific release date yet, so stay tuned to TechRaptor for more on this one.
