Developers Bloober Team and Anshard Studios recently released a new cinematic story trailer for the upcoming psychological horror game Layers of Fear. The trailer introduces the story of the new character The Writer, who one day, moves to “a far-off lighthouse, intending to create her magnum opus. However, she encounters something beyond her expectations in this isolated place.” Layers of Fear will launch on June 15 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babiano commented on the new trailer in a press release saying:
“The official premiere of Layers of Fear is just around the corner, and it’s no secret that everyone at Bloober Team and Anshar Studios has been waiting for this moment for a long time. We are thus closing an important chapter in our history, and are very much interested in general feedback from the Layers of Fear community. We hope that fans of the series—as well as new players—will enjoy the unique atmosphere of the game and immerse themselves fully in it. We wish you great fun, as much as we were having during the development process!”

Layers of Fears is a first-person, psychological-horror game set in the early 20th century that explores the lives and tragedies of a madness-engulfed family and their slow descent into insanity. This is a journey heavily influenced by the many lenses of art, starting with Victorian painting and slowly unraveling into the worlds of music and film. This game builds on the foundations of the franchise’s previous entries and works as a reimagination of the overall narrative structure connecting them all. Layers of Fears will serve as a nexus where the revised stories of the original Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2 coalesce into a single unified experience that is expanded with the addition of new original chapters.
