The A Valorous Hero event in Pokemon GO is taking place from 10 AM Local time on May 11 to 8 PM local time on May 17.
This event has a new Mega Pokemon and an exciting selection of Raid bosses, in addition to some great bonuses and Research to complete!
A Valorous Hero Event Bonuses
Pokemon trainers will be able to earn more Candy during A Valorous Hero, thanks to these bonuses:
- 2x Candy for catching Pokemon
- 2x chance to obtain Candy XL from catching Pokemon

New Mega Pokemon in A Valorous Hero
Mega Pinsir is making its Pokemon GO debut in 4-star Raids during the A Valorous Hero event.
While this is the only new Pokemon in this event, a Mega Pokemon coming to the game is always an exciting addition!
All Raid Bosses in A Valorous Hero Event
These are all of the Raid bosses that will be active in Pokemon GO throughout the A Valorous Hero event:
In addition to the debut of Mega Pinsir and shiny Tapu Fini, this Raid boss selection also includes the return of Hisuian Braviary and Hisuian Avalugg. These Pokemon were previously only available during specific Raid Day events.
New Research
The A Valorous Hero event is also adding a new Special Research Story which rewards Pokemon GO players with an exclusive Candela-costumed Ponyta!
Additionally, there will be some new Timed Research to complete during the event. Finishing this will reward players with a Fast TM and a Charged TM so you can teach your Pokemon new attacks.
Make sure to finish the Seasonal Special Research too. There are only a few more weeks to do it!
