Assemble Entertainment and developer Critical Rabbit (formerly Bundspecht.Games) have announced the Fall of Porcupine release date. The cozy Night in the Woods-style adventure launches across PC and consoles on June 15th, and if you’re a healthcare professional, you can get it for free.
Fall of Porcupine has been a little while in the making. The game was originally announced in August last year, and now it looks like it’s ready to leave the waiting room and step into the doctor’s office. To accompany the release date announcement, Critical Rabbit has also released a brand new trailer for Fall of Porcupine showing you a little of what you can expect from the game. Fall of Porcupine is an anthropomorphic adventure set in the fictional town of Porcupine. You are Finley, a young pigeon who arrives in the town as its newest medical practitioner. Finley quickly learns that being a healthcare professional isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and as if that wasn’t enough, he’s also discovering that this seemingly sleepy little town is hiding some dark secrets of its own.
As you play Fall of Porcupine, you’ll meet the town’s residents and help them to diagnose their various medical complaints. Themes include mental health, illness, and grief, and Critical Rabbit says its game will handle these themes with “approachable storylines, relatable characters, and resonating dialogue”. You won’t need to worry if you’re not bringing Cuphead-style expertise to the table, either; Fall of Porcupine has been designed to be enjoyed by gamers of all types and skill levels.
