Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s Season 3 Reloaded update is almost here, and Call of Duty has just revealed the official roadmap; here are all the biggest updates coming to the popular FPS.
This upcoming update will bring a new map, Special Ops Mission, weapons, and one of basketball’s biggest stars to the battlefront.
Warzone 2 will debut one of the most highly anticipated modes, Ranked. But it may not be what you expect.
Here is an early look at everything coming with Warzone 2 and MW2 Season 3 Reloaded.
New 6v6 Multiplayer Map: Alboran Hatchery
Season 3 Reloaded will introduce a new 6v6 multiplayer map called Alboran Hatchery. This new map takes players to the green hills beneath the towering wind farm turbines.
Players must navigate the warehouse facilities and the hatchery storage to obtain the best vantage points to eliminate their enemies.
It is a medium-sized map with plenty of large objects to take cover with and paths to flank the enemy team with.
Players will need to tactically decide their routes before fully pushing, or they risk getting caught up in an enemy flank.
New Multiplayer Modes
Giant Infection
In Giant Infection, players will need to team up with other survivors against the Infected on the larger Battle Maps.
This means that this version of Infection can support many more players, leading to even more chaos and fun.
3v3 Faceoff
Infinity Ward brings back a classic mode from Modern Warfare 3 with Faceoff. This small-team Cage Match pits six players against each other in teams of three.
Each player can bring their own loadout, which helps this small team mode differ from Gunfight, but it is played on the same maps as the 2v2 mode.
New Warzone 2 Features
Warzone 2 will also get a few new features to help spice up the competition ahead of the WSOW with the addition of the following items:
- Perk Packages
- Players can find preset Perk Packages in Warzone 2 inside Supply Boxes and Buy Stations. These items offer players great passive benefits to help them conquer the warzone.
- Deployable Buy Station
- The Deployable Buy Station will allow players to stock up on supplies without giving up their position. It is a great item for late-game scenarios where you must buy back a teammate or purchase a weapon.
- Gulag Entry Kit
- The Gulag Entry Kit will allow players to enter the Gulag multiple times and give them another opportunity to redeploy onto the battlefield without needing to get bought back by their teammates.
Raid Episode 03 – Continue the Story
In this upcoming update, players will get to experience Raid Episode 03 and follow Price, Farah, and Alex as they venture into a Soviet Base in search of Hadir.
To ensure you’re caught up with the story, don’t forget you need to start with Raid Episode 1: Atomgard. These incredibly difficult challenges will require you to bring two other players to complete.
There is still time before it releases, so make sure your team is up to date with all the latest updates before you engage in Raid Episode 03.
New Special Ops Mission: Defender Comes to Hafid Port
Players will also have access to a new Special Ops Mission called “Defender Comes to Hafid Port” to see them take on the cartel’s newest operation.
Once players make it through the first line of defense, they’ll need to survive through increasingly difficult waves of enemy forces.
Thankfully, players can visit the shop to purchase power-ups that can help them complete the mission and earn Special Ops Stars.
New DMZ Map Koschei Complex
DMZ is also getting a brand new addition to its map roster with the Koschei Complex, an underground bunker in Al Mazrah.
Players will need to find one of the many underground entrances to gain access to this bunker and face some of the most difficult enemies outside of Building 21.
Warzone 2 Ranked Beta Launch
Season 3 Reloaded is finally bringing Warzone 2 Ranked as a Beta. This allows Raven Software to test out some of the features before fully releasing the mode in a future season.
In the Ranked Beta, players will have access to competitive settings, a progressive rank system, a visual skill system, and even seasonal rewards.
Your skill rating will function similarly to MW2 Ranked and is based on your match performance. To enter a Warzone 2 Ranked match, players must submit a portion of their SR as an entry fee.
Season 3 Reloaded Weapons
FTAC Siege
The FTAC is a new machine pistol with a rapid-fire rate and swap speed. This weapon will complement the Assault Rifles in Warzone 2 and MW2 nicely due to its speed.
It functions similarly to an SMG without taking up a primary weapon slot. Although it’s not a complete substitute for the SMG class, with the right attachments, it can definitely hold its own against them.
GS Magna
The second new weapon coming in Season 3 Reloaded is the GS Magna, another firearm that chooses to maximize its firepower over its speed.
It fires .50 Cal bullets that can penetrate a target from a distance and do considerable damage. Players can even go akimbo with this weapon to deliver powerful raw damage output.
Throwing Star
The Throwing Star isn’t a completely new weapon since players were able to use it in Resurgence during Season 2, but now it’ll become available for all players no matter the mode.
This weapon comes with a longer range and higher stock count than the Throwing Knife, making it a great choice for players that are quick to pull the trigger.
Season 3 Reloaded Bundles
Kevin Durant Operator Bundle
The NBA superstar Kevin Durent will make his way to Warzone and MW2 with the Kevin Durant Operator Bundle.
The bundle includes the following:

- Reap This AR Blueprint
- Easy Money Sniper Blueprint
- Deadly from Downtown Finishing Move
- B-Ball Weapon Charm
- Ankle Breaker Loading Screen

Modern Warfare 2 ’09 Weapon Audio Bundle
Players have the opportunity to bring back some of the sounds from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the Throwback Pack: ’09 Weapon Audio Bundle.
This bundle includes the following:
- Good ‘Ol Days Assault Rifle
- Lachmann Classic SMG
- Classic Soap Operator Skin
- Hacked Emblem
- Other in-game cosmetics
Both of the weapon blueprints are outfitted with their own set of retro-fitted audio to help players relive some memories from back in the day.
VII Wrath Bundle
The VII series is a pretty popular set of bundles, with VII: Wrath being the latest installment. This bundle features an Operator Skin for Ronin and a few new weapon blueprints.
The bundle includes the following:

2023 Champs Tracer Pack Bundle

Official Season 3 Reloaded Patch Notes Release Date & Time
The full patch notes for Season 3 Reloaded of Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 will go live shortly before the update goes live, between 7 AM PT and 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST on May 10.
The Call of Duty Blog has confirmed that the full patch notes will be released prior to the launch of Season 3 Reloaded.
If they follow a similar release schedule to Season 3, we’ll see the patch notes up a few hours before the update at around 7 AM PT.
The official patch notes will be available to view on the Call of Duty Patch Notes website.
