Controversial language stacks for easy Gamerscore title One Step After Fall have been delisted from the Xbox store following a tweet last month from ID@Xbox head Chris Charla saying that Microsoft would look into the game.
Earlier this year, developer TBGS Indie Studio released One Step After Fall, a first-person narrative adventure game with achievements that could be unlocked in around 15 minutes. It was soon updated with a free 1,000G title update before TBGS released a Windows stack of the game worth 2,000G. In March, we then saw TBGS release the same game again twice but with different subtitles and new achievement stacks, which some members of the achievement community thought was a step too far. Now, these controversial language stacks have been delisted from the Xbox store.
One Step After Fall language stacks removed from Xbox store
Both One Step After Fall (Español) and One Step After Fall (Deutsch) have been removed from sale on the Xbox Store. We’re not sure why this is exactly as, from what we can tell, TBGS hadn’t broken any of Microsoft’s rules. When the first Spanish language stack was released, it did catch the attention of ID@Xbox head Chris Charla who said Microsoft would “take a look” into the situation. We don’t know if Microsoft has taken action here or if something else has happened, but we’ve reached out to TBGS Indie Studio for comment.
Both the original game and the Windows stack remain unaffected and are still listed on the digital storefront.
In an interview with TrueAchievements last month, TBGS said it was going to release more language stacks of One Step After Fall and more free title updates for the game. On April 18th, TBGS is set to launch One Step After Fall (Español) (Windows) — a Windows stack of the game but in Spanish. Unlike the other delisted games, the store page is still live for this one, but it’s unavailable for purchase, so we’re not sure if this one will indeed release next week.
