If you miss how the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 sounded, don’t miss out on the new MW2 2009 Weapon Audio Bundle in Season 3!
Call of Duty has changed a lot since the release of Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. And while the name of the game is the same all this time later, the way it sounds is noticeably different.
But while Modern Warfare 2 2022 has been praised for its audio in general, those who prefer the nostalgic sounds of the 2009 title are in luck.
How to Get Modern Warfare 2 (2009) Audio in MW2 (2022)
Activision has officially revealed that a throwback audio pack is coming to MW2. Players will be able to purchase the Modern Warfare 2 Throwback Pack: 09 Weapon Audio Bundle from the COD Store to change how their weapons sound in-game.
As of right now, we don’t know which weapons will be affected by the audio bundle, but it’s almost certain to apply only to specific guns that also appeared in the 2009 title.
We therefore expect the M4, Kastov 762, M16, RPK, Lachmann Sub, and Intervention to be among those guns affected by the sound pack.

What’s more, we imagine that enemy weapons will sound the same, and only your weaponry will be changed when using the audio bundle.
But it’s not just old-school audio that’s returning in the 2022 title – this fan-favorite MW2 map is back in Season 3!
Modern Warfare 2 Throwback Pack: 09 Weapon Audio Bundle Release Date
The Modern Warfare 2 09 Weapon Audio Bundle will release in Season 3. An exact date for the incoming DLC is yet to be officially announced.
We’ll update this article as soon as a release date arrives.

How Much Will the Throwback Audio Pack Cost?
Right now, no price has been announced for the Modern Warfare 2 Throwback Pack: 09 Weapon Audio Bundle.
Since the game hasn’t had an Audio Bundle in the Store previously, it’s tricky to predict the upcoming item’s price – however we’d estimate it’ll be somewhere in the 1600-2400 COD Points range.
Nostalgia can be expensive, but for some players it could be worth it to bring back the iconic Intervention sound effects.
