Maria Miller is Tommy Miller’s wife and the leader of a settlement of survivors in Jackson, Wyoming. She initially helped establish the settlement in Jackson with her father before becoming its leader alongside Tommy.
While Maria is sympathetic to Joel and Ellie’s plight eventually, she initially fears it will put Tommy and the people of Jackson in danger.
In the 2013 The Last of Us video game, Maria is played by Ashley Scott. Despite having starred in both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part 2, Scott does not appear in The Last of Us TV show.
What Happens to Maria in The Last of Us?
After Joel and Ellie leave Maria and Tommy in Jackson, they continue to help their settlement thrive. When Joel and Ellie eventually return, Maria welcomes them with open arms.
Unfortunately, after a tragic incident in The Last of Us Part 2, Tommy and Maria agree to part ways and spend time apart.
Luckily, Maria does not die, making her one of the few characters that Joel and Ellie meet that actually survives The Last of Us.
