Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players are getting ready for the debut of Season 02 on February 15. So far, we’ve heard a lot of details on Warzone 2 such as the return of the 1v1 gulag and many other features making a comeback from the original Warzone. When it comes to multiplayer, however, it has been pretty quiet until now. Activision has announced that Infected will join Modern Warfare 2 on the first day of the new season.
Infected was first introduced to the franchise back in Modern Warfare 3 and has appeared in multiple titles since. At the beginning of a match of Infected, there was a 15 second countdown that allowed you to reposition on the map. Once the timer hit zero, a player was chosen at random as the first infected.
With only a knife, throwing knife, and a tactical insertion at their disposal, it was their job to infect the other players in the lobby. The match ended with either all players being infected or with at least one survivor making it until the end of the set time limit. It was definitely a fun mode to play with friends, and led to some hilarious moments.
Infected confirmed to be returning in Modern Warfare 2 Season 02
The news came around when a Call of Duty fan tweeted that “playing Infected on Call of Duty with friends is the greatest feeling in the world.” The official Call of Duty Twitter account went on to quote retweet this by agreeing before confirming its return. The Infected game mode will be featured in Modern Warfare 2 starting on February 15.
It will be good news to veteran fans that Infected will be added to Modern Warfare 2. We will have to wait and see if Activision provide any more details in the days leading up to the launch of Season 02.
