Blue Marvel
How to Unlock: Complete Recruit Season Pass
Card Ability: Ongoing: Your other cards have +1 Power.
Blue Marvel is your reward for finishing all your beginner missions, which makes sense because it’s just about one of the strongest early-game cards on offer.
The card gives all other cards on the field +1 to their Power, including the cards you end up playing later in the game. For decks that swarm the field with low-cost cards, Blue Marvel has a lot of value to offer.
Iron Man
How to Unlock: Unlocked Immediately
Card Ability: Ongoing: Your total Power is doubled at this location.
It’s a good thing that Iron Man is one of Marvel Snap’s starter cards because it’s also one of the biggest game-changers on offer so far.
No matter the deck you’re using, Iron Man can usually find a way to improve it, particularly in decks that specialize creating high-Power locations. By doubling the points of its location, Iron Man can take a zone from strong to untouchable with ease.
Ka-Zar
How to Unlock: Collection Level 2
Card Ability: Ongoing: Your 1-Cost cards have +1 Power.
One of the very first unlockable cards, Ka-Zar is so strong that many players choose to build decks around him. The card adds +1 power to all 1-Cost units on your side of the field.
Combine it with powerful 1-Cost cards such as Ant-Man or Rocket Raccoon, or field spammers like Squirrel Girl, for incredible value at a cheap price.
You’ll notice that the best Zabu deck in Marvel Snap features Ka-Zar heavily, thanks to its abundance of 1-Cost cards.
Jessica Jones
How to Unlock: Collection Level 1
Card Ability: On Reveal: If you don’t play a card here next turn, +4 Power.
Jessica Jones is a far stronger card than you might thing. For just 4 Energy, you can place down an 8 Power card – so long as you don’t place anything alongside her next turn.
Sometimes you’ll be forced to play in Jones’ location right away, in which case you still have a 4 Power card on the field. But leave her alone and you’ve got some crazy value very easily.
Mister Fantastic
How to Unlock: Collection Level 4
Card Ability: Ongoing: Adjacent locations have +2 Power.
Mister Fantastic is one of the best early-game cards to add to your deck, particularly if you’re able to place it in the center location. The card adds 2 Power to each neighboring location while having 2 Power itself to boot.
This could mean that you’re effectively playing a 3-Cost 6 Power card on your third turn! It’s also a great way of bumping up a location’s total Power even when you’ve got 4 cards there already, taking your opponent by surprise.

Nightcrawler
How to Unlock: Collection Level 8
Card Ability: You can move this once.
Although Nightcrawler is only a 1-Cost 2-Power card, it’s definitely one of the best cheap cards to throw in almost any deck. After all, the card’s special ability lets it move location one time, even after you’ve played it.
That ability allows you to move to new locations without triggering their effects, or move away if the location reveal isn’t desirable. It also lets you get the drop on opponents that might believe your zone to be full, by moving Nightcrawler and dropping in a more powerful card at the last second.
Odin
How to Unlock: Collection Level 14
Card Ability: On Reveal: Activate the On Reveal abilities of your other cards at this location.
Odin is such a powerful card that it’s not a bad idea to build your deck around him. Filling a location with On Reveal abilities and dropping Odin on Turn 6 will result in all those abilities triggering a second time.
Since many abilities affect the board around them, such as Ironheart’s ability to give 3 other friendly cards +2 Power, this final play could completely turn the tide in your favor.
Onslaught
How to Unlock: Pool 1 Mystery Cards
Card Ability: Double your other Ongoing effects at this location.
Our first card on this list that isn’t a guaranteed early game unlock, Onslaught is found at random when unlocking cards in Pool 1. This 6-Cost 7-Power beast is not only a strong beatstick, but it also doubles all Ongoing abilities at its location.
Like Odin, Onslaught is the boss card for a themed deck, this time revolving around the Ongoing ability. Partner it with the right cards (such as Ka-Zar or Blue Marvel) and you’ll dominate the field.

Rocket Raccoon
How to Unlock: Pool 1 Mystery Cards
Card Ability: On Reveal: If your opponent played a card here this turn, +2 Power.
Rocket Raccoon is another unlock you might not find right away but when you do, it’s well worth adding to your deck. Predict where your opponent is going to play their card and you’ll be left with a 1-Cost 4-Power hero right off the bat!
Most players early on tend to stick to the leftmost location on Turn 1, seeing as that one is already revealed. You’ve got a great chance of triggering Rocket’s ability by placing him there (unless the location’s effect might have your opponent thinking twice).
Although you won’t see a lot of them early on, make sure you know the difference between Discard and Destroy in Marvel Snap before heading into Pool 2!
Spectrum
How to Unlock: Collection Level 6
Card Ability: On Reveal: Give your Ongoing cards +2 Power.
Another option for your Ongoing deck finishing move, Spectrum adds +2 Power to all other Ongoing cards on your side of the field. Whereas Onslaught mostly affects its own space, Spectrum can easily impact the game.
