One that has many players stumped is Kecleon because you can’t encounter it like any other Pokemon.
Luckily, we’ve got a step-by-step guide on how to catch this camouflaged ‘Mon as well as some helpful info on how you can spot it!
How to Catch Kecleon in Pokemon GO & Location
To catch Kecleon in Pokemon GO, you first need to find a PokeStop with a Kecleon on it.
If you spin a PokeStop with Kecleon on it, you will get a message saying “there’s an invisible obstacle in your way”. Then, tap on Kecleon until it jumps off onto the overworld map, allowing you to catch it normally.
- Find a PokeStop with Kecleon climbing on it
- Spin the PokeStop with Kecleon on it
- This will give you a message saying “there’s an invisible obstacle in your way. It’s preventing you from collecting items…”
- Tap on Kecleon until it jumps off
- Exit the PokeStop and look for Kecleon on the overworld map
- Press on Kecleon and catch it just like you would any other Pokemon!
Make sure to use these Berries to increase your chances of catching Kecleon. After all, you don’t want it to escape!

How to Tell if Kecleon Is at a PokeStop
The only way to tell if Kecleon is at a PokeStop is by pressing on the PokeStop and inspecting the Photo Disc.
If there is a Kecleon there, you should be able to see its outline as well as the distinctive red zigzag pattern on its back as it is climbing on the PokeStop photo disc.
Even if there isn’t a Kecleon there, make sure to spin the PokeStop to get Field Research and items, including Pokemon Eggs!
Can you Catch Shiny Kecleon in Pokemon GO?
You cannot catch the shiny version of Kecleon in Pokemon GO just yet, but it is coming to the game soon.
