A number of Overwatch 2 players have voiced their complaints about Battle for Olympus, the new limited-time deathmatch, calling it “possibly the worst event in Overwatch history” and “a new low.”
Overwatch 2’s new Greek mythology-themed game mode, Battle for Olympus, is now live as a limited-time deathmatch, but it looks like not all players are too thrilled with it.
Overwatch 2 players aren’t all happy with new Battle for Olympus mode
Players have taken to the Overwatch subreddit to discuss Battle for Olympus, voicing their disappointment that a lot of players might already have the main reward for the event’s challenges (an unrelated skin — the Legendary Winged Victory Mercy skin — that’s apparently already been in the game for a long time), and calling the event “possibly the worst event in Overwatch history,” “basically a new skin showcase,” and “just laziness.” One player even went so far as to say “I’m so disappointed by the new event that I turned off the game.”
Battle for Olympus is live until January 19th with challenges to complete, plus a competition where the hero with the most number of kills from the event will be celebrated with a statue in the Illios Ruins arena map. Have you played the new event? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
