JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -The Arkansas Sport and Fish Fee is giving Christmas bushes a second life by changing them into fish habitat in lakes and reservoirs throughout the state.
The fee collects donated Christmas bushes, cleans them up and sinks them underwater to create helpful fish habitat.
As soon as submerged, the bushes serve three necessary features: they supply hiding locations for small fish, develop into meals sources for algae and bugs as they decompose, and entice bigger fish, creating new fishing sizzling spots for bass and crappie.
Individuals eager to donate their bushes should guarantee they’re stripped of all decorations and are actual bushes, not synthetic ones.
Assortment factors for used actual Christmas bushes can be found statewide.
Bushes will be dropped off at any of the next areas till the tip of January 2026:
Northeast Arkansas
East Arkansas
North Arkansas
Central Arkansas
West Central Arkansas
Northwest Arkansas
Southeast Arkansas
South Arkansas
Southwest Arkansas
