2025 IHSA soccer state championship recap: Class 5A-8A roundup – Peoria Journal Star

The 2025 Illinois Excessive College Affiliation soccer state championships continued Tuesday and Wednesday with 4 video games rescheduled from Saturday after a winter storm hit Illinois.
The Class 5A and 6A video games are Tuesday at Hancock Stadium in Regular, with video games on the Illinois State College campus. The 7A and 8A video games are scheduled for Wednesday in DeKalb, on the campus of Northern Illinois College.

NORMAL — Oak Park Fenwick shocked nationwide energy East St. Louis to win the Class 6A state championship.
Jake Thies had 161 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns — plus a pivotal late-game interception — to ship Fenwick (11-3) to its second state title and first since 2021.
Fenwick went forward 31-28 with 2:45 remaining on a 31-yard area aim from Noah Sur, the capper to a 6-minute, 24-second drive.
ESL (10-4) took over on offense, however Thies intercepted quarterback Ronnie Shanklin and returned the ball 39 yards to the three. One play later, Fenwick QB Jamen Williams stepped in for a landing to seal the sport.

St. Francis (11-3) earned it second title and first because it defeated Metamora for the 5A title in 2008. The Spartans had misplaced within the semifinals the final three seasons.
