The original Call of Duty: Warzone has had its servers offline since November 16, for the official launch of the sequel to the popular battle royale title. But that did not mean that it was the end of the original Warzone, as Call of Duty has announced officially, that post the launch of Warzone 2.0, players will have two different games to try out, Warzone 2.0 and Warzone Caldera.
Yes, the original Warzone has been renamed to Warzone Caldera and it will continue to be a separate game from Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. The developers have also introduced some new changes that will be made to the game, post the relaunch. Here are the gameplay experiences that players can expect once Warzone Caldera launches:
- Player progression, cross-progression for XP and Weapon XP, inventories, Battle Pass content, weapons, Store Bundles, and other purchases from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty: Warzone™, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty: Vanguard will be accessible only within Warzone Caldera (and within their respective games).
- Players can only expect a standard battle royale playlist within Warzone Caldera.
- Content from Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare 2, including new battle pass and store bundles will not make its way to Warzone Caldera.
- Players will not be able to transfer 2XP and 2WXP tokens between Warzone 2.0 and Warzone Caldera.
- Warzone Caldera will not have an in-game store anymore, but players wlll be able to transfer COD points between all games.
- Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera will not have Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep in the game when it launches.
- Players that are more into small battle royale maps can expect exciting developments in Warzone 2.0 for future seasons.
