Making sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a great way to gain additional XP and some temporary buffs. However, making them isn’t all that simple.
Players will have to take part in a fun and easy sandwich-making mini-game in order to feed their new Pokemon pals.
Of course, sandwich-making is an art, and if you want to hit three stars every time, you’ll need to know how to do it first.
How Do You Make Sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
To make sandwiches, you will need to place down their picnic table, interact with it using A and then select the “Make a sandwich option”.
You then need to select which type of sandwich you want to make, with each one requiring different ingredients that can be bought from vendors and shops inside of towns.

- Press X to bring up the menu.
- Select Picnic from the menu
- You can only set up your picnic table in locations that don’t have people nearby. Make sure to find a nice open space in the wild away from other trainers.
- Once the picnic table has been placed, walk over to it and press A.
- Choose Make a sandwich from the drop-down menu.
- Select which sandwich you want to make with A, and then choose which pick you want to use.
- Complete the minigame by using the left joystick to move the hand and holding A to pick up the ingredients. (You will need to let go of A to drop the ingredients into your bread).
- Watch the animation play once you’ve finished making the sandwich, and then the effects will start.
It is worth noting that you can’t really mess up sandwiches. The only way you’ll make a bad sandwich is by dropping ingredients anywhere outside of the bread, as this causes them to be lost and unusable.

How to Make Custom Sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
If you don’t want to adhere to a sandwich recipe, then you can make custom sandwiches by pressing X to enter “Creative Mode” when choosing which sandwich to make.
From there, you’ll need to select which ingredients you want to use and then place them all in the sandwich in whatever order you want.
