TORONTO — The Astros' rotation seems to have taken one other hit.
In simply his second begin again from a 28-month rehab from Tommy John surgery, right-hander Luis Garcia exited with proper elbow discomfort within the second inning of Tuesday evening’s collection opener towards the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
Garcia threw an 88 mph pitch to Ernie Clement and instantly signaled to the dugout. It appeared as if he pointed to his surgically repaired proper arm.
Supervisor Joe Espada, accompanied by a group coach, met with Garcia on the mound briefly earlier than taking him out of the sport. AJ Blubaugh got here on in reduction.
With Spencer Arrighetti placed on the injured list with right elbow inflammation on Wednesday, Garcia had returned two days earlier to make his season debut. He allowed three runs on three hits over six innings whereas throwing 79 pitches.
