
DENVER — — Matt Chapman hit two residence runs after interesting a one-game suspension, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 10-8 on Wednesday evening to complete a three-game sweep with their fourth straight victory.
Chapman gave the Giants a 1-0 lead within the second with a 450-foot shot to center field off Germán Márquez. He hit his twentieth of the season within the sixth — a 423-foot three-run shot to left-center off Juan Mejia for a 9-5 benefit. Chapman was suspended by for his half in a benches-clearing brawl in Tuesday evening in a 7-4 victory.
Rookie Drew Gilbert hit his third homer — a solo shot off Mejia within the seventh for the Giants’ closing run.
Heliot Ramos and Patrick Bailey each went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored because the Giants gained for the tenth time in 11 video games to drag inside 4 video games of the New York Mets for the ultimate NL wild card.
Robbie Ray allowed 5 runs — 4 earned — on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out eight.
Joel Peguero (1-0) bought 4 outs for his first win in his sixth look. JT Brubaker allowed three runs in 2 1/3 innings earlier than Ryan Walker got here in to get the ultimate two outs for his 14th save.
Márquez surrendered 4 runs on eight hits in 5 innings. Luis Peralta (1-3) bought one out and allowed 4 runs.
