Days after backing out of its Aug. 14 jamboree, Bolton High School football has forfeited its Week 1 common season TSSAA soccer sport in opposition to White Station, Spartans coach Coley Thornton and athletic director Mark McDonald confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on Aug. 18.
McDonald says White Station doesn’t have a alternative sport at the moment.
The schedule change follows the Aug. 9 funeral for Joshua Henderson, a Bolton participant who died July 26 following problems associated to warmth stroke he suffered at a apply on July 7. It’s unclear whether or not Bolton’s forfeiture is instantly associated to Henderson’s dying.
