Saints Row developer Volition has outlined what we can expect to see in the next major update to the open world adventure — due late November, the patch is set to squash hundreds of bugs and bring improvements galore.
Saints Row launched with more than its fair share of glitches and bugs, but the team is hard at work making things in Santo Ileso that much smoother for everyone. The next free update is due next month, promising more than 200 bug fixes and improvements, quality-of-life tweaks, fixes for challenges and co-op, and a whole lot more. In the meantime, players can expect a drip-feed of free cosmetic packs this year, with the first — Front to Back — coming this week.
200+ fixes coming in November Saints Row update

Looking further ahead, the team also shares a glimpse into the future for Saints Row in its latest site update. “We plan on supporting Saints Row for the long-term,” Volition says. “2023 will be a hugely exciting year for Saints Row owners with a raft of content, including all-new story content and free new gameplay experiences and areas of the city to explore. All this will of course will land aside even bigger quality of life updates, more free packs and more stuff we’re not quite ready to talk about yet.”
We’ll be interested to see just how much polish Volition is able to bring to the game with this seemingly substantial update, since polish was the main thing we felt the latest game was missing in our Saints Row review. While it’s unlikely to trouble the best Xbox open world games too much, there’s definitely an enjoyable game behind all the issues. While some of them might make the chaos even more amusing, other (such as challenge and co-op problems) certainly do not, so we’re glad to see fixes for those are on the cards.
