I’ve never done a co-op campaign game, so I could be wrong. But I don’t think it would work in COD. Too many instances where it wouldn’t make sense.
Sure, it works as two soldiers trying to get from A to B and killing all the baddies in between. But what about all the missions/QuickTime events where it wouldn’t make sense for multiple players? All Ghillied Up, does only one person get to shoot the sniper rifle? Who’s the last one alive at the end of COD4? Does Player 1 get to play as Soap and kill Zakhaev while Player 2 is Gaz and just dies? If BO1 had co-op, which player is Mason and seeing the Reznov hallucinations?
I think a co-op COD campaign could work, but they’d have to avoid some of the only one player” things we’ve seen in past games.
