Cyberpunk 2077 finally has newfound success almost 2 years after the release. The first year for the CD Projekt Red title have been rocky to say the least, but over time it has finally reached its potential. Thanks to the patches that have improved the gameplay experience and the release of the highly popular anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the game has finally risen to success.
Cyberpunk 2077 has also been reaching new heights recently. One of the most notable ones would be that it surpassed the peak concurrent players mark for Witcher 3, the previous best selling title for CD Projekt Red. On top of that, Cyberpunk 2077 has also risen to number one in the Steam best selling charts, surpassing the likes of the highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2, Apex Legends, Destiny 2 and more.

The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime is easily the top contributor to the success of the game. The patch and the anime release were timed perfectly, allowing viewers to consume different types of content from the same universe. This process also helped in bringing in the fans of the anime to the game, as they had the opportunity to experience this surreal world virtually and sort of continue the adventures as an Edgerunner.
On top of that, the modding community has also been hard at work to inculcate every bit of content from the anime into the game. The game itself has already provided the players with fan favourite, David Martinez’s stylish yellow jacket, along with the Edgerunners emblem, and the for the weapons bit, they have added the destructive force of Rebecca’s shotgun. Modders on the other hand have gone over and above to provide mods for David’s hairstyle and face preset, Lucy’s face preset, incorporating the music from the anime through the Edgerunner’s radio station and so much more.
Cyberpunk 2077 is having a good time at the moment, and the developers are focusing all their energy towards the DLC content that is scheduled to release in 2023. The DLC has been dubbed as Phantom Liberty and players will have to solemnly swear to faithfully serve the New United States of America. Once that is done, Cyberpunk 2077 will still receive timely updates, but the main focus of the studio will divert towards the development of the fourth instalment to the Witcher series.
