Sam Witwer, the motion capture and voice actor for Sony Bend Studio’s criminally underrated Days Gone, has taken a cheeky swipe at the rumored casting for the Days Gone movie adaptation on Twitter.
While the Days Gone movie itself hasn’t been officially announced, there has been chatter that Outlanders star Sam Heughan taking on the lead role in the film, presumably Deacon St. John. Again, this hasn’t been confirmed.
On Twitter, Witwer humorously commented that he’s busy filming a video game adaptation of Outlanders.

The game’s developers have been even more vocal about the rumors of Deacon’s casting, with ex-Sony Bend executive John Garvin and Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog both agreeing that Witwer should be cast as St. John in the movie.
Days Gone was released for the PS4 in April 2019, and you can read our full verdict here. Despite the game being popular among gamers, Sony turned down the possibility of a sequel, and it was later claimed that the departure of Shawn Layden ‘killed any chances’ of Days Gone 2.
