Recently players spotted an unbelievable sight on Xbox Game Pass, they observed that one of the top games of 2022, Elden Ring, was available to play for free. Other games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Soul Hackers 2 were also seen being promoted in Xbox Game Pass advertisements. Players’ hopes were crushed when Microsoft came out to clear and stated that these games showing up on Game Pass was just a bug in the system.
This is not the first time that players have seen such a glitch on Xbox Game Pass, they have become pretty well versed with these sort of things. Earlier this year, Madden NFL 23 was spotted on Game Pass Ultimate, exactly the way Elden Ring was found. Before that, Cyberpunk 2077’s in-game footage was also spotted on an advertisement for Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft has stated that they have recognised the bug and are working towards fixing it. Naturally, the Xbox Game Pass subscribers are disappointed as for a split second they felt that one of the best games of 2022 would be arriving on the game pass. As of now Elden Ring, Grand Theft Auto V and Soul Hackers 2 are not available on the service, but we never know what Microsoft could have hidden up its sleeves.
Players shouldn’t be too disappointed as Xbox Game Pass still has a great roster of games that they can check out, with Fortnite becoming the latest addition to their cloud service. Xbox Game Pass also recently previewed a family plan tier for their subscription. This plan will allow players to share their subscription with 5 other households in the same country, just like Microsoft Office 365.
