
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Hub Metropolis Spartanburgers introduced that the inaugural recreation on the new Fifth Third Park in Spartanburg will characteristic Wofford School and the College of South Carolina – Upstate.
The 2 faculties will face-off in a baseball recreation at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 1.
Tyson Jeffers, Basic Supervisor of the Hub Metropolis Spartanburgers, mentioned, “We’re thrilled to host Wofford and USC Upstate for the primary baseball occasion at Fifth Third Park. This recreation will likely be a historic second as we introduce Fifth Third Park to the group whereas providing followers an thrilling alternative to look at two of the area’s premier collegiate packages. We will’t wait to make this an evening to recollect for the colleges, their athletes, and all of the followers who be a part of us.”
Wofford School is the 2024 Southern Convention champion, and USC Upstate is the 2024 Large South Convention runner-up.
JJ Edwards, head baseball coach of Wofford School, “Wofford baseball is worked up to open Fifth Third Park in Downtown Spartanburg. April 1st will likely be an important day for the town, group, and faculties as Wofford and USC Upstate renew this rivalry in 2025. We’re excited to be a part of this special occasion and plenty of extra for years to come back.”
Kane Sweeney, head baseball coach of USC Upstate, mentioned, “We’re actually excited for the partnership with the Spartanburgers. To play the primary recreation at this new stadium is one thing the fellows on this program will keep in mind ceaselessly. We look ahead to persevering with our relationship into the long run and hopefully taking part in lots extra video games within the coming years.”
This recreation would be the first baseball recreation on the brand-new Fifth Third Park.
Tickets will likely be out there here beginning on Jan. 23 at 10 a.m.
