First sport at new Spartanburg ballpark to function Wofford and USC-Upstate – Fox Carolina

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Hub Metropolis Spartanburgers introduced that the inaugural sport on the new Fifth Third Park in Spartanburg will function Wofford School and the College of South Carolina – Upstate.
The 2 faculties will face-off in a baseball sport at 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 1.
Tyson Jeffers, Normal Supervisor of the Hub Metropolis Spartanburgers, stated, “We’re thrilled to host Wofford and USC Upstate for the primary baseball occasion at Fifth Third Park. This sport can be a historic second as we introduce Fifth Third Park to the neighborhood whereas providing followers an thrilling alternative to observe two of the area’s premier collegiate applications. We will’t wait to make this an evening to recollect for the faculties, their athletes, and all of the followers who be part of us.”
Wofford School is the 2024 Southern Convention champion, and USC Upstate is the 2024 Huge South Convention runner-up.
JJ Edwards, head baseball coach of Wofford School, “Wofford baseball is happy to open Fifth Third Park in Downtown Spartanburg. April 1st can be an amazing day for the town, neighborhood, and faculties as Wofford and USC Upstate renew this rivalry in 2025. Kane Sweeney, head baseball coach of USC Upstate, stated, “We’re actually excited for the partnership with the Spartanburgers. To play the primary sport at this new stadium is one thing the fellows on this program will keep in mind without end. We stay up for persevering with our relationship into the longer term and hopefully enjoying loads extra video games within the coming years.”
This sport would be the first baseball sport on the brand-new Fifth Third Park.
