get a router and one AP (or more if you need those)
the speed to play online doesn’t really matter unless it is really slow, i limit the bandwith of my xbox one when i’m not downloading anything to 5 megabits download and 2.5 megabits upload, still can play online with 0 lag
since i don’t use many devices at the same time, i bought a few cheap routers/AP and one switch from tp link and tenda
i use one as my router with wifi disabled, and the other two as access points, one for the 2.4GHz band and the other for the 5GHz band, and i have no issues of performance with any device, no need to restart devices after a few days
if you don’t want to split you network with many devices you can always get a high end router from asus, netgear or tp link
if that’s not enough and you feeling confident in you network skills, get a mikrotik router or a barebone PC with PFsense, there’s nothing those can’t handle
