The Sandbox has announced a new Game Jam event in partnership with Crazy Defense Heroes. After previous game jam events of Sandbox, including Smurfs and Voxodeus, the metaverse company is back with yet another game and asset creation contest Tower Defense Game Jam. The TOWER franchise will offer 15k $SAND tokens and NFTs prizes to winners and Crazy Defense Heroes gifts to all eligible participants. The game jam starts on July 25, 2022, and ends on August 14, 2022.
The Sandbox game jam events are game creation contests held by Sandbox for game designers, both experienced and beginners, who can win prizes by making entries using the Sandbox Game Maker software. This time participants have to create a tower defense game using the Game Maker software. In addition, you can create or import your assets from the sandbox asset library. The game must be based on the topic that is Tower defense game, and for inspiration, you can play the Crazy Defense Heroes game. It is a play-to-earn tower defense game developed by Animoca Brands.
The game should also have some playable features, such as quests and missions, increasing the chance of winning the event. The game length should be at least 5 minutes and contain 25 different assets. Participants can submit entries individually or in a team of maximum 4 members. The Sandbox staff and TOWER staff will judge the entries, and the result will be announced on September 11, 2022
Tower Game Jam Entry Submission
Participants must submit the games from the Game Maker Gallery option and add a short description. After the submission, you must also submit your game through this google form. This is mandatory, failing which the entries will be canceled.
What are the Prizes and Judging criteria?
The total prize pool of the event is 15,000 $SAND. Winners will also receive “The Crazos” PFP NFT, an avatar NFT inspired by Crazy Defense Heroes. The randomly generated NFTs run on polygon blockchain and provides privileges to holders in the Animoca Brand Universe. All participants with a successful submission will receive 3 Crazos mint passes and 199 Crazy Defense Heroes in-game item packages. In addition, the top 10 winners will also receive The Sandbox Game Jam winner’s badge NFT and 399 USD in-game package item if their wallets are connected to Crazy Defense Heroes user ID beforehand.
The top winners will receive the following prizes:
- 1st place: 6,000 SAND + 4x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 2nd place: 3,500 SAND + 3x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 3rd place: 2,000 SAND + 2x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
- 4th to 10th place: each receives 500 SAND + 1x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
Entries will be judged out of 100 points based on game design (25 points), overall idea (25 points), playability (25 points), creativity (25 points), and bonus points/wow factor (extra 25 points). The participants must build an exciting tower defense game with distinct gaming elements and submit the game within August 14, 2022, after which the submission window will close.
