A leaker has shared information about when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will get Ranked Play – and it isn’t at launch!
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most-hyped games of the year, if not the whole console generation so far. Despite this, we still know very little about the game.
Of course, Activision has already announced the MW2 release date as well as shared the first Modern Warfare 2 campaign trailer, but the game’s multiplayer mode is still tightly under wraps.
However, more leaks about the game are beginning to surface and the latest one gives some information about a possible Ranked Play mode.

Leak Reveals Treyarch is Developing MW2 Multiplayer Ranked Play
Over the past few weeks, there have been plenty of Modern Warfare 2 leaks. First, the full MW2 weapons list was leaked and this was quickly followed by the first images of Modern Warfare 2 maps. Now, yet another leak has surfaced to do with the game getting a Ranked Play mode.
Reliable Call of Duty leaker @TheGhostOfHope claims that Modern Warfare 2 will indeed have a Ranked Play mode, however, it won’t be in the game at launch.
Apparently, Ranked Play will arrive “shortly after launch” but no date or time window was given. Let’s hope this means with the arrival of Season 1.
Additionally, and rather interestingly, Black Ops Cold War developer Treyarch is supposedly “leading development on the mode”. This comes as a surprise but makes sense as Activision may be stopping yearly Call of Duty games.
